It's Company Picnic Day and I am going to go canoeing. And David is coming with me and I am afraid he might tip me over. But I'm going anyway.
It's a wonderful last day of work.
Last night, Chad and I folded newspaper and talked and visited Alycia and watched "CSI" with my mom. It was good family night.
Alas, tonight will not be quiet. Chad's going to Guys' Night at Tom's.. Rae is probably causing some sort of trouble.. Dad and Mom are VBSing it.. and I'm at the picnic with Dave.
Party on.

The eyes are much improved. Thanks to those who inquired. Rachel brought me my glasses at work, then we picked up my paycheck for last week and went to Dunkin Donuts for the prementioned caramel latte. Spot ate my donut and tried to get my latte. No one, however, comes between me and my latte. Even my pony.
Last night I folded newspapers for my kindergarten class. This is how many newspapers I folded for the creating of paper flip flops: 3240988567. Dominick Angerosa was my foot model, so he and Olivia got to stay up way past their bedtime.
Loftis called me on the drive and I wanted to fly out to Ohio and see him and make him feel at home.
I came home and sat at the kitchen table and talked to Chad for over an hour. About everything, and nothing, and I'm so glad he lives in my basement. We watched part of "The Newlyweds" that my mom had taped for me, but I couldn't get into it. My discussion with him was beyond more important.
Rachel came up and snuggled with me on the bed with the two dogs. I love my sister.
On that note, I think I'll go eat a brownie and read "The Nanny Diaries". Sounds like a plan.

I think my eyes are falling out of my head. No, really, they're swollen (can eyes be swollen?) and bright red and they hurt. And they're gross. They tear up all the time.
I can't believe it's my last week of work already. I
love my job. They offered me a position full time, but I had to turn that down for obvious reasons. Then they offered me one at Christmas and next summer. Christmas will probably work out, but next summer I'll be traveling around the world for 8 weeks. So that's a no go.
Today my mom made Chad and me lunch again. Getting ready for work with Chad is becoming one of my favorite parts of the day -- too bad it will be over soon. Today he got Goldfish in his lunch and I got cheese balls. I should have offered to switch but I didn't think of it because I was too busy being anxious over the loss of my glasses. Which have been located in the Expedition.
Tonight I am going to have a VBS meeting and maybe see Ashley and rest my eyes and have a pedicure. I am going to be so productive. These are the things I am going to do:
- Fold the laundry.
- Play with the tiny dog.
- Watch "The Newlyweds".
- Make paper flip flops for my VBS kids.
- Plan a sleepover for my girls' Bible study.
- Call Christe.
- Clean my bathroom.
- Eat dinner with my mom.
- Pick up my paycheck.
- Buy a caramel latte.
Oh my goodness. It's 4:11 PM and I have so much to do.
I'm off and running.

Road trips are amazing. There is nothing much more that needs to be said.
Post-Grammy's funeral I crammed myself into Erik's Golf, along with Rae, Erik, Dave and Chad. It was a tight fit, but come on.. bonding happens faster that way. Not that we aren't already like one person. But now we are sealed for all eternity.
Farts smell a lot in a Golf.
We had interesting times at Dunkin Donuts. Took a detour and landed on a drive in movie theater in Indianapolis and stopped to watch "The Bourne Supremacy". I sat on the ground on my pillow with Dave's sleeping bag around me and tried to focus with stones in my butt. In my opinion, it wasn't really worth focusing on. But whatever.
There were long conversations, late night stops at Wendy's, using each other as pillows and serious discussions about smoking cigars and marijuana. Dave and I read "God's Gift to Women" (despite the accent, ladies, he swears it's not him) simultaneously. SUCH a good book. Recommend it to everyone.
Yesterday was the girls' Bible study. Dave came and talked to us, and so many of the girls had their hearts touched. It made me want to laugh out loud, I was so happy. In fact, I think I did laugh loudly. Multiple times. We followed it with "For Love or Money" (no "Who Wants to Marry My Dad?".. that season finale is NEXT week), and Ashley and I had one of our long, famous talks where we see right through each other. I love them so much. My girls.
Trusting God actively and not passively is a lot harder to do than it is to say.
