Home! I'm so excited. It's been a good couple of days.
On Wednesday, Ash and my moomahlahma picked me up from the airport. I was busy dealing with a not-so-minor lighting catastrophe in Alford that (as far as I'm aware of) has not yet been totally addressed. We came back to the house and ate cereal + English muffins with homemade raspberry jam. Mmm. Ash and I had one of our killer talks, that was at times not completely coherent, because we were both exhausted.
In the morning, we dragged ourselves out of bed, ate breakfast, and hugged goodbye. I waved at her from my driveway. It's rough being home and not knowing when I'll see her again because I'm going to Maine and she has a wedding to participate in.
I spent the afternoon sleeping. I so far have slept 24 of the hours that I've been home. It feels SO good. I'm going to come back to school so incredibly pumped.
I went to the barn and saw my pony. I cleaned his stall and walked him around and picked his feet out. I wish that I had more time. I wish that school was over and I was home where I belong, with my pony and my friends and 24 hour diners. I met the lady who leases him now, Susan, and her four kids; they were reallyreally nice.
I hung out at the Have-to-smack-mes' for a couple hours with Erik, Sten and Dean. Dave called my phone, and Erik picked up. It freaked Dave out a little bit. He talked to Er-Bear and Dean and mee. He's doing well. Sten did not talk to Dave on the phone. Sten is 25! *Sten has a girlfriend, Sten has a girlfriend*. I did a little dance around him and sang that song while he was talking to her on the phone and cooking his dinner. Erik and Dean joined in.
We are so mature.
Gilbert is sitting on my lap, purring, and drooling on me. Since when do cats drool? I do not know.
After a dinner with my beloved parents and Emily Henry (spaghetti!), Erik and I went to see the premiere movie of the fall - "Raise Your Voice", featuring Hilary Duff. Oh, it's a must see. We couldn't locate the desired 24 hour diner near the Southington movie theatre, so we settled for the truck stop. I left the waitress a 50% tip because I felt like she had a rough time in a truck stop, with all men, late at night.
Returned home at 1:00 to promptly crash into my bed. My own bed. Arrgh, I love love love being home.

Friendships seem to be changing like the leaves, and it's sort of comforting and confusing and brilliantly God, just like the fall. Old friends seem to be forgetting me more and more often, and new(er!) friends are rushing in with arms wide open.
It was a crazy busy weekend. I took care of the concessions stand (with Ben's help!), and we finished up just in time to slip into the theatre and watch the matinee. Good job, kids. I've been to busy stage managing "Another Antigone" to have anything to do with "Broadway Bound", but I was impressed. As always. ;) I got some homework done at the park with Snow, and ushered for Aimee Auclair, house manager extraordinaire, at night. Ben watched some of the show with me, then we went over to Janna's and watched "50 First Dates" with Janna, Crystal, Grant, Andrew and Matt.
Early morning yesterday! Ben was the best one and drove me to Columbus to hang out at Congress with me.. with Cassie, Katie and Deb! I was so excited to see them. I can't wait to go home in TWO DAYS and ride my pony and eat my mom's cooking and hang out at the Ridleys and have a good talk with Gillian and Ashley. We ate apple dumplings, hot dogs, waffle fries, smoothies, brownie de-lites, and went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Deb treated.. so sweet! She was taking her turn at being the 'adult'. It's still nice to be treated like a kid sometimes.
The show made me miss riding so much. I bought some things.. nothing that I can't use out here. I decided that I am going to be AQHA queen two years after I graduate. Connecticut Quarter Horse Association, then.. the world! :) And Katie will be queen for the buckskins. And Cassie gets a crown, too, cause she's super cool.
I am sitting next to Holly Luiken. She has become a regular visitor to our room and it makes me so happy. She gives the best hugs and cuddles with me when I'm upset. We discuss things that probably aren't fit to post and understand each other theologically.
Suzanne, Janna, Krysten, Crystal, Matt, Grant, Sue, Jillian, Cassie, Katie, Deb, and ever-gentle Ben have come through for me hardcore this weekend. And Thursday. :) Whether they knew it or not, they all swooped in at exactly the right moment and surrounded me with their love. Thanks so much, you guys, for supporting me consistently, no matter how tired you are or what else is going on. We're gettin this thing beat. :)
